Our Founder

The founder of Sportsfun4Lifestyle, Terry Densham, is a former Hertfordshire tennis, table tennis and squash champion who attributes his sporting success to the opportunities and encouragement he received at a young age. He is living proof that family participation in sports is an important factor – his father was a keen sportsman.

Terry discovered Table Tennis at a Holiday Camp after World War II and with parental support and a top coach was selected to play tennis with Fred Perry at the 1951 Festival of Britain Exhibition.  Fred was World Table Tennis Champion in 1929 and won Wimbledon in 1934/5/6 and inspired Terry to become Surrey Junior Champion at both sports.  Terry also played regularly for England Juniors at Table Tennis and easily won the Junior Championships of Great Britain Plate at Wimbledon in 1955 prior to being called up for two years National Service in the Army in 1956 when his parents moved to Welwyn Garden City.

1970 Terry devised the Chosen for England Promotions for the England World Cup Team for Mexico.

1975-77 He set up a thriving Gosling Table Tennis Club, until he saved Parkhouse Sports Club (Above John Lewis) by originating, designing and developing the Herts Country Club in Welwyn Garden City to become the top squash club in the world.  He organised Herts Junior Squash for 10 years, allowing FREE sessions for children to play various sports and was proud when his four children became Herts Junior champions.
